Plein Air Painting Group

The Mountain Top Historical Society, in partnership with the Thomas Cole National Historical Site, is pleased to announce its first-ever Plein Air Painting Day on Saturday, July 11, 2026, from 9 AM to 3 PM.

Artists of all ages and skill levels are invited to paint on the beautiful campus grounds. Participants are asked to bring their own supplies and set up.

A kid’s table will be sponsored by Thomas Cole National Historic Site, with watercolor palettes, brushes, and a mini lesson available for young artists.

At 2 PM, artists are invited to the U&D train station on campus to display their paintings.

Landscape painter Laura Leigh Lanchantin will be presenting mineral paint making demonstrations and showcasing her paintings throughout the day. More about her work can be found atĀ www.lauraleighlanchantin.com.
