Children’s Geology Hike, with Robert Titus at the Mountain Top Historical Society

After a quick intro to the science of geology, participants will walk round the Haines Falls campus as Dr. Titus describes how the Ice Age glaciers rose out of the Kaaterskill Clove and overran the Historical Society site. The hikers will examine the kame and kettle moraine at the Haines Family Cemetery, and the large stones that litter the campus. Level of difficulty: Easy. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Bring water and snacks. Rain date — September 13.
Location: Meet on MTHS Visitor’s Center porch at 5132 Rt 23A, Haines Falls
