October 11: 7th Annual Reading of Washington Irving’s Rip Van Winkle

Storytellers and story lovers are invited to join the Mountain Top Historical Society’s annual community reading of Washington Irving’s classic tale of Rip Van Winkle’s legendary journey with his dog, Wolf, into the Catskill Mountains. Catskill Artist Matt Bua will bring his Traveling Rip Exhibit. Ol’ Rip himself will make an appearance. Families and children are welcome. Free. Attendees and readers are encouraged to dress like Rip Van Winkle, Dame Van Winkle, Bowling Dutchmen or Wolf.

Location: 1913 Ulster & Delaware Train Station, 5132 Rt 23A, Haines Falls
